From Alabama State Department of Education:

We’re bridging the broadband gap in Alabama! ALSDE has launched Alabama Student Connect to help students and teachers who currently lack high-speed broadband internet service or devices get access to the internet. Alabama Student Connect can assist families who participated in the Alabama Broadband Connectivity program last year apply to receive benefits in order to remain connected.

The Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) program is a new program that provides a temporary discount on home internet bills for qualifying low-income households. EBB will provide a discount of up to $50 per month towards broadband service for eligible households. Also, qualifying households can receive up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price.

Alabama Student Connect can help connect families to the EBB program. Visit https://alstudentconnect.org/ or call 1-888-728-0422 (toll-free). Representatives are available from 8 AM—7 PM (CT) Monday – Friday and 9 AM—5 PM (CT) Saturday.
